Schools: Residents with school-age children have access to a range of quality Sarasota County public schools within a 10 – 15 minute range. Taylor Ranch Elementary, Venice Middle School and Venice High School are only a few of them.
Health Care: Venice Regional Medical Center, about 15 minutes away, is a modern 312-bed hospital providing 24-hour emergency care and inpatient/outpatient services. Additional hospitals are in Port Charlotte and Sarasota.
Shopping and Dining: within a 10 minute radius there is a broad selection of restaurants, supermarkets, major retailers as well as banks and other commercial services.
Golf Nearby: Grand Palm is not a Golf Course Community, however, that is not necessarily a drawback. Golf enthusiasts will find excellent year-round Golf Courses only 15-20 minutes away. Boca Royal Golf & Country Club, Jacaranda West, Sabal Trace Golf and Country Club, Myakka Pines, or Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club are only a few of them.

Interstate: The reason why everything is so close are the 2 main traffic arteries. The I-75 connects Miami with Fort Myers, Sarasota, Tampa and goes all the way up further north. The US-41 basically follows the coastal line. It used to be the main connection of the cities before the interstate was there, a reason why most commercial activities are along 41.
Airport Access: the Sarasota International Airport is the closest one. You can get there in about 30 – 45 minutes. Tampa International would be the second choice. It will take about an hour to get there, however, the traffic can be unpredictable during rush hours. The Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers is easier to reach and very modern. It takes a little over an hour to get there, but the longer drive maybe worth it.
