Riverwood Golf and Country Club in Port Charlotte is a resort-style community set in a tropical and serene setting along the banks of the Myakka River. With over 1300 acres, Riverwood has about 300 acres dedicated to preserves, wetlands, ponds, and lakes. Needless to say, many homes have breathtaking views over large lakes, preserves, and the golf course. The gated Golf Course community started in 1992 and was completed with the last home built in 2014. The community was awarded the Audubon Green Community so you can enjoy the natural Florida habitat with its abundant wildlife. The Golf Club has a 4 1/2 star rated 18-hole golf course per Golf Digest, designed by Gene Bates.

There is a total of 1323 properties in Riverwood. Some owners living in Condos enjoy sweeping views of the scenic Myakka River. The 24-manned gated community offers a heated pool, spa, tennis courts, dog park, fitness center,  library, and meeting rooms.
