Learn more about Siesta Key
Siesta Key, a barrier island, is famous for its quartz-crystal sand as white and soft as powdered sugar. That crystal-white, powdery sand stretches for miles, and it never gets hot, no matter how bad the sun beats down in the summertime. Because of the sand content, Siesta Key was voted # 1 and #2 Best Beach in the USA by “Dr. Beach.” Its clear, warm waters and tropical nature are a haven for locals and vacationers from all over the world. Siesta Key offers many options when it comes to buying Real Estate.
Siesta Key Beach
Mid-island off Midnight Pass is the perfect spot to find the action. Siesta Key Beach offers some of the world’s most beautiful, whitest sand. Not only is it the most popular beach in the County, but it is also the widest. It may be a little crowded during the season, and especially on a holiday weekend. There are over 900 parking spots available. In addition, you find a few beach access points with a few parking spaces, but without restrooms and showers.
Siesta Key Public Beach has numerous facilities and includes concession stands and newly renovated restrooms. There are volleyball fields, a nicely equipped playground for the little ones, and lifeguards. Big trees provide plenty of shade.
Siesta Key Village
The Village of Siesta Key is within walking distance of the public beach. Both, Siesta Key Public Beach and Siesta Key Village, are the perfect spots to be. This is where you can find all the actions. After a day at the beach, you may want to take a stroll and enjoy the cheerful atmosphere. The Village offers approximately 100 eclectic shops, fine restaurants with or without live music, and plenty more to see and to do. Come in your comfortable shoes and bring your wallet, and you will be fine.
Turtle Beach
Turtle Beach is a relaxing beach, located about two and a half miles south of Stickney Point Road near the southern end of Siesta Key. Turtle Beach is usually not as crowded as the public beach which makes it a lot more appealing for people who want to relax while catching some rays. Here you can find about 200 parking spaces with great facilities. This beach section is located on Midnight Pass Road near the south end of the island.
Palmer Point Beach
Palmer Point Beach begins at the southern tip of Siesta Key and continues until the north end of the following Casey Key. Because of its length, the beach will give you a feeling of privacy and seclusion. Palmer Point Beach is a favorite spot for boaters and those who like to walk along the shoreline. There is a little lagoon where you can launch your boat or where the kids can play in shallow water. Don’t expect too much action there. If you need that – the village or the Public Beach would be your choice.
