Wellen Park is a master-planned community in Sarasota County. Most of Wellen Park is incorporated into the City of North Port; the remainder of Wellen Park is in Venice and even Englewood, FL. It is one of the top-selling communities in the US. Wellen Park stretches over 11,000 acres and, at build-out, will have about 22,000 homes. It has become a relocation destination for people looking for an outdoor lifestyle in a warm climate. Wellen Downtown creates a center and gathering hub within Wellen Park. Wellen Park consists of three districts:
- West Villages District:
Grand Palm, Renaissance, Oasis, Tortuga, Island Walk, Sarasota National
- Playmore District
Boca Royale, Wellen Park Golf & Country Club, Avelina, Solstice, Sunstone, Wysteria, Gran Place at Wellen Park, Everly, Brightmore, a 55+ community, Lakespur a multi-generational community.
- Downtown Wellen
Downtown Wellen District is beautifully designed around an 80-acre lake and serves as a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination for all ages. It will happen in phases. The Canoe House is a waterfront restaurant with indoor-outdoor seating, a bar, and a lounge for watching the sunsets. A Kayak and paddleboard outfitter with also bikes for rent. There is a 2.8-acre trail around the lake for walking and biking. There will be a splash Pad and Playground for the kids, an event lawn for festivals and celebrations, a Town Hall, and a Hotel.
Soon there will be a Cosco with the entrance directly on Tamiami Trail/41.
