Venetian Golf & River Club – more than a “Lifestyle” Community
Venetian Golf & River Club is the most advanced of all the new communities. The final phase is coming to an end and there are not too many homes/home sites left. Located along the tranquil Myakka River, this 1,000+acre community is a peaceful retreat for nature lovers. The centerpiece of the community is the 600-acre, 18-hole Championship Golf Course. But the Golf Club offers a wealth of amenities. Included are a state-of-the-art locker room, pro shop, Grille, members’ lounge and private dining.
Venetian Golf & River Club is not all about the golf course, and golf club membership is not even mandatory. That is not always the case in Florida. Quite a few golf communities do require that all homeowners pay the fees for the golf course regardless if they want to hit a ball or not. Venetian Golf & River Club is different. If you are not interested in golfing, you can easily stay away from it and still enjoy all the other amenities the River Club has to offer. Sweet! Do you like that?
The River Club is without any doubt the hub of all social activities in Venetian Golf & River Club. A huge clubhouse with restaurant, gathering rooms and fitness center is waiting for the homeowners. This is where the action is! A resort-style lagoon pool with a huge sun deck is next to the clubhouse. You don’t want to bake in the sun? Well, the lap pool along the side of the clubhouse is all yours. When you start growing webs between your fingers and toes you better get out of the water. How about a round of tennis? Six tennis courts are available for the tennis enthusiasts.
There is also a 70-acre nature park along the Myakka River. Follow the boardwalk through the untouched vegetation all the way down to the Myakka River and you will experience what De Soto may have felt when he arrived in Florida hundreds of years ago. Actually, the entire community appears to be a huge nature preserve with all the wetlands and lakes.
By the way, the golf course is an Audubon International Certified Sanctuary for birds and fits perfectly into the whole concept of the community.
Google Map gives you an idea where the Venetian Golf and River Club is located, however, the aerial picture is not up to date. The community is far more advanced than the picture shows.
